Whether our guests are attending a game to see their favorite player on the court or their favorite artist Illuminate the stage, as our Sr. Manager of ESS/Conversions, you play a key role in planning, supervising, and coordinating all activities and operations of the Conversions Department to include overnight conversions, Event Services Staff, and all Ice Makes at the Rose Quarter. 

DAY-TO-DAY: 

  • Works closely with the Conversion supervisory staff to help manage the changeover crews during all major
  • and/or dual conversions at the Rose Quarter, as needed.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day and event work responsibilities of the Conversion Department and Event Services Staff.
  • Assist with the development of, and closely manages departmental operating budgets and event costing. Manage and maintain staging components (pipe/drape, tables, chairs and installation equipment).
  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise Event Services Crews to include full-time and part-time employees. Handles all ESS crew performance evaluations, coaching, and personnel disciplinary actions.
  • Oversees Conversions timelines, goals, quality-assurance, safety training of crews, and finds way to increase efficiencies and minimize property loss and/or damage.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly Conversion work schedules and calendars to ensure that necessary staff is working on a daily, weekly, and per event basis. Reports cost to Event Manager.
  • Confirms event information from Event Management and Productions and communicates same to subordinates.
  • Oversees Ice Rink installations, including the supervision and training of the Ice Making Crews. Maintains
  • Ice making supplies and equipment, and coordinates with Facility Services personnel as needed for assistance on event as well as non-event days.
  • Helps maintain and manage inventory control and proper storage of Conversion equipment, tools, and supplies as needed and works closely with Facility Services department to ensure that all equipment is maintained in excellent working order.
  • Plans and implements all purchasing of supplies and equipment, including capital improvements for the Conversions department.
  • Develops departmental policies and procedures and implements same to ensure that the highest possible standards of operations are met and sustained.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 - 7 Years of work experience in a similar arena/stadium/sports venue setting
  • Are a strong leader through busy and slow times of the year.
  • Are organized in multitasking of dealing with multiple size and type of events. Interdepartmental relations and ability to maintain positive relations are key. Attention to detail.
  • Have a calm, professional demeanor in dealing with show clients and other departments.
  • Have great communication skills within own departments and with all other key departments.
